Geu-Ru. Hong, MD, PhD is a Professor at the division of Cardiology of Yonsei University, College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea.
Dr Hong is a graduate of Yeungnam University Medical School Daegu, Korea. He trained in internal medicine at the Yeungnam University Medical Center. He finished cardiology fellowship at the Yeungnam University Medical Center and Yonsei University Severance Hospital, Seoul, Korea. He obtained a Ph.D, in Doctor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) from Yeungnam University in 2002.
Dr Hong has a sub-speciality board certification in cardiology. And he got sub-special board for Cardiac Imaging & Interventional Cardiology He was a post-doctoral as a researcher in Ohio State University, Columbus, in the USA. He was a clinical research fellow at the University of California, Irvine, CA, in the USA.
Perviously, Dr Hong was appointed the Associate Professor of Medicine at the Yeungnam University at Daegu from 2010-2012. Since 2012, he is the Professor at the Yonsei University Severance Hospital.
Dr Hong's practice specializes in the care of cardiomyopathy, valvular heart disease andstructural heart disease. Dr Hong’s interests also include cardiac imaging including echocardiography and Interventional Imaging. Dr Hong is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology. Echocardiography and intervention.
Currently, Dr Hong serves as the secretary of Asian Pacific Association of Echocardiography (AAE) and President elect of Korean Society of Cardiology (KSC)..
And Dr. Hong is the president elect of Korean Society of Cardiology and CEO of Education & Research Center for Rare & Structural Heart Disease (ERCRS) and the program director of the Echo360 Structural Heart Imaging with Asia Valve symposium.
