Henry Anselmo Mayala is a distinguished clinical cardiologist, researcher and academic at
Jakaya Kikwete cardiac institute, Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania.
His expertise spans various aspects of cardiovascular health, particularly in resource-
limited settings, and he has been instrumental in advancing knowledge through his clinical
practice, research and publications.
Henry Anselmo Mayala graduated with an MD from Hubert Kairuki Memorial University
(HKMU) in 2008. He gained a Master of Medicine (internal medicine) from Huazhong
University Science and technology (HUST) in 2012. In 2019 he graduated with a Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) in clinical cardiology. He is a Fellow of American college of cardiology
(FACC).
He has published 25 papers in scientific citation indexed journals, with an area of interest
in coronary micro vascular disease. Through his ongoing efforts, Mayala continues to
influence the landscape of cardiac care and research, making a lasting impact on the
health of communities in Tanzania and beyond. He is competent in cardiac consultation,
surgical cardiac clearance, cardiac imaging and clinical research.
