Dr. Engerasiya J. Kifai, MD (Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences/UDSM in 2003),
MMed Internal Medicine (Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in 2008 with Best
Student Award). MSc Cardiology (Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in 2015),
fully registered with The Medical Council of Tanganyika.
She has more than twenty years’ experience in Internal Medicine and general practice, ten years’
experience in cardiology and currently venturing aggressively in non-invasive cardiology and
imaging with robust training at both Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute and India.
She is currently serving as the Head of Non -Invasive Diagnostic Services Department at Jakaya
Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The latter is the state of the art cardiac
institute in East and Central Africa.
She plays a key role in teaching, practical hands on training, mentoring and examining
Undergraduates, Postgraduates and MSc Fellows at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied
Sciences.
She played a role as a lead reviewer in the Cardiology chapter for the Tanzania National Standard
Treatment Guidelines, STG & NEMLIT Sixth edition 2021.
She is also an active member of The Association of Physicians in Tanzania (APHYTA) and The
American Society of Echocardiogram (ASE).
